The Corsham Estate
The Corsham Estate today extends to around 2,500 acres (1,000 hectares) and comprises of four let farms, more than 100 individually let houses and cottages together with a dozen or so other properties. These include workshops, offices and High Street shops. In addition, the Estate includes Corsham's Lacock Road football and rugby club grounds, the cricket pitch and bowls green. There is one dairy unit on the Estate and a sheep flock of about 2000 ewes. Arable land sustains crop rotations of wheat and barley with oilseed rape, beans and peas typically being grown as break crops. In-hand woodland comprises mainly blocks of deciduous trees planted and maintained primarily for amenity and habitat.
Over the centuries the Estate has ebbed and flowed considerably, at various times encompassing the villages of Slaughterford, Ford, Biddestone and Beanacre, as well as Lucknam Park, Hartham Park and Bradenstoke Abbey; these lands being parted with for various reasons, though a considerable amount had to be sold as a consequence of the agricultural depression. In 1873 the Estate was some five and a half thousand acres.
Much of the business of the Estate office today involves ensuring the maintenance and letting of the significant portfolio of houses and cottages, most of which are listed and many within conservation areas. The Estate's custodianship, over a prolonged period, has helped to conserve the historic and architectural integrity of these buildings which are widely appreciated today.

Corsham Park
Though we welcome the public to enjoy this beautiful landscape and allow open access in the single large field south of Corsham Lake, we ask that:
- Visitors please stick to the signposted public footpaths throughout the rest of the parkland.
- Must also take any litter home with them
- Must keep dogs under strict control at all times
- Must be careful not to disturb the sheep or wildlife, notably the waterfowl often found around the lake
- Must be respectful to other users of the park and not damage trees or fencing etc
- No swimming in the lake
There is a very limited fishing syndicate for those licensed by the Corsham Estate, and you are free to enquire about availability, but spaces come up very infrequently.
Parking for Corsham Park can be found in our purpose built private car park on the Lacock Road, near to the football and rugby clubs, and immediately south of the southern park wall. Crossing the road from the carpark will take you to our permissive path through the wall and directly into the open access field of the park.
Parking in our other carpark in Church Square is reserved strictly for visitors to Corsham Court and St Bartholomew's Church.

Many Estate tenants have been resident for years.

Any offer of a tenancy will be made, subject to our subsequent receipt of satisfactory references, at the absolute discretion of the Estate as a private landlord. The Corsham Estate does not charge any fee whatsoever for registering applications for tenancies of its properties. Similarly, fees are not charged for arranging assured tenancy agreements or the renewal of the same.
